Symphony in the City - Blogger Gwyn Dean

Writer: Cheryl OsborneCheryl Osborne

A beautiful hot evening, easy and reasonably close parking, the river shining in the late sun, the city lighting up around us, the pre-concert program of jazz just audible over the arrival of the noisy, exuberant audience, chairs on the just watered lawn - this is the ultimate Perth summer experience. Last year the format of this event was changed and judging from the very diverse nature of the audience, proved a popular success, including many families with very lively young children in tow. Variety volunteers were touting batteried candles and there were reindeer antlers, foam batons with multi coloured lights waving on all sides..

Easy exit, they must have eventually learnt how to coordinate the traffic; a very pleasant night out - must bring wine next year.
