Spider's Webs at John Curtin Gallery......written by Mary

Writer's picture: Cheryl OsborneCheryl Osborne

“Open Borders” supported by “Art on the Move!”

The Exhibition was as always interesting, thought provoking and well presented. We came into the foyer where there was what we thought was a large installation of different coloured threads forming a criss cross design like a spider’s web.

On closer inspection it was like a map of the countries the artist had visited.

We were encouraged to select a thread and trace our own travels which may now have closed borders because of Covid 19.

The exhibition focused mainly on WA and the borders were either physical or emotional.

We had a change of venue for lunch. We went to the local golf club, sitting outside overlooking the golf course. Very pleasant.
